The hostel boasts immaculate housekeeping, ensuring that every corner, including the shared kitchen, was clean and inviting, which resonated deeply with my own standards as a marine biologist accustomed to meticulous environments. Each morning brought us a delightful breakfast, including fresh eggs and local bread, providing a perfect start to the day before heading out on adventures. The vibrant garden and relaxing hammocks offered ideal spots for unwinding after exploring Cajamarca's rich culture with friends. Not to mention, the convenient bike rental service allowed us to immerse ourselves in the stunning scenery while getting some exercise-something I truly appreciated as someone passionate about the outdoors. Now, as a scuba instructor, I'm always on the lookout for trips that fuse relaxation with exploration, and Ruta Alterna proved to be that ideal base. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming hostel to anyone traveling through Cajamarca, whether you're a solo adventurer or with loved ones.
